MALLORCA: OLGA'S ITINERARY AND SUITCASE

· ·
This summer, despite being different, has given me the opportunity to explore my country and travel to destinations that I had not been to before.
ANDSpain has wonderful places, with an unimaginable culture and history, with insane gastronomy, and with landscapes to die for.

This year I choseMallorca, the only island in the Balearic Islands that I had never been to before and that I was dying to explore! Here I share my guide to this magical island, its charming corners, restaurants, beaches and more. Also the looks and jewelry that I carried in my suitcase.

MALLORCA: THE MAGIC ISLAND

I believe it is because I am from La Coruña and I love open cities surrounded by sea that I immediately fell in love with Palma at first sight. Its Cathedral by the sea, its old town, its port, I liked it so much that I'm already thinking of going back! I recommend you visitMaazi, an amazing clothing and accessories store where they sell my jewelry.

Palma de Mallorca

In Palma de Mallorca, the capital of the island, it is essential to walk through theold town, visit theCathedral, and theMuseum of Modern Art. The historic center of Palma is characterized by the sections that preserve the old city wall. In its narrow streets you will find charming corners, do not miss the patios of the old stately homes that have been restored over the years. The patrimonial heart of Palma is configured by its Gothic cathedral, elevated and looking out to sea. It is the only Gothic cathedral that exists on the seashore.

Joan Miró Foundation

When I travel one of the things I like the most is visiting studios of the artists I admire.Joan MiroHe is one of the contemporary artists that I like the most, and he lived in Mallorca for almost 30 years. The Foundation It is a museum dedicated to the artist's work and works. It has three buildings: The Sert workshop, a studio designed by the architect Josep Lluis Sert; Then, Boter, a Majorcan house from the 18th century used by the artist as a second studio, and the Moneo Building, headquarters of the foundation. It is an insane space with contemporary and architectural exhibitions and an incredible view of the bay ... I could not have liked it more!

SIERRA DE TRAMONTANA: DEIÁ, FORNALUXT AND SÓLLER

The second day we went to the Sierra de Tramontana, its narrow roads between olive trees and carob trees are beautiful, no wonder it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We stayed two nights in a charming rural hotel called Ca's Xorc.We love sailing and whenever we can we rent a boat to tour the coast. In the port of Sóller there are several companies that are dedicated to boat rental. It is a beautiful coastline, with a cliff covered in green falling into a sapphire-colored sea and with one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. After a spectacular day at sea and when it was not so hot, we escaped to see Deià, Sóller, and Fornaluxt.

Deià

Deià It is known as one of the most beautiful towns on the island. Perched on a mountain and overlooking the Mediterranean. For many years, a place where famous artists, writers and creatives spent long periods of time. It stands out for its nature, its peace and its relaxed atmosphere. Here is the Hotel Belmond La Residencia, a true oasis of peace. To eat I loved therestaurant Es Racó d'es TeixMichelin star cuisine with gastronomic authenticity and innovation.

Fornaluxt

Fornaluxtit is a beautiful mountain town. I recommend walking through its narrow streets, and admire its architecture, its nature, and its traditional beauty. ThechurchIt is beautiful, with a unique combination of Gothic and Baroque features, and the other building that stands out is the current onetown hall, which includes a defense tower from the 17th century. The town is small, and can be seen in just a few hours.

Soller

InSoller you can spend a whole day. Full of tradition and culture, the town of Sóller has a lot to offer. It is located in the middle of a "valley of oranges" which is known as "valley of gold".Can Prunera It is a very well restored Art Nouveau building with a collection of works of art, including works by Kandinksy, Picasso, Warhol etc, and temporary exhibitions. I recommendrent a boatin the port and travel the entire coast of the Sierra de Tramontana. I loved therestaurant Béns d'Avall.

EAST COAST: CAPDEPERA AND SANTANYÍ

On the fourth day we crossed the island until we reached the east coast, where we visited Capdepera and Santanyí. Two charming cities, surrounded by nature and with very good gastronomy.

Capdepera

Capdepera It is one of the most complete municipalities on the island, and it has the perfect mix of nature, beach, culture and leisure. I recommend going up tomedieval castle, which has a spectacular panoramic view of the island. There are twoHotels With a lot of charm. FirstCases de Son Barbassa beautiful rural hotel, near the sea and with mountain views. The food is great, and it is perfect for resting. The second,Hotel Predi Son Jaumell, Sophisticated and surrounded by nature, where the restaurant of Andreu Genestra, Majorcan chef with a Michelin star, is located.

Santanyí

Santanyí is a city in the southeast of Mallorca, a very beautiful, rural, authentic area, and blessed with an impressive natural environment. With a serene atmosphere, with good gastronomy and a lot of tranquility to rest. Here I recommend theS'Hotelet de Santanyí a house converted into a five-room hotel with a very familiar treatment and a special charm. I was especially excited to visit my dear friend Margarita Campins and her storeBeauvalais, she is the perfect ambassador for my jewelry, we have known each other for more than 10 years. It was very exciting to spend time with her and see how beautiful and special her store is.

OLGA'S SUITCASE
